About the Banger Derby
The Golspie Gala Banger Derby is a highlight of Gala Week, drawing crowds from across Sutherland and beyond. Drivers compete in heats across a muddy, action-packed course in modified bangers, with the last car running taking the trophy. It's loud, chaotic, and brilliant fun for all ages.

Parking
Very limited parking is available at the Banger Derby on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early or consider car-sharing.
What to Expect
Expect mud, noise, and plenty of excitement. Multiple heats throughout the day building to a grand final. Food and drink stalls on site.
For Spectators
Spectator areas are clearly marked. Wear sturdy footwear and clothes you don't mind getting muddy. Bring a waterproof layer just in case.
Family Friendly
A great day out for the whole family. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times around the arena.

- By car: Golspie is on the A9, approximately 10 miles north of Dornoch. Follow signs for the Banger Derby on the day.
- By train: Golspie has a station on the Far North Line from Inverness.
- Parking: Very limited — arrive early. First come, first served.
